1990年代初在大陆引起较大反响的“农村三部曲”电视剧之一，剧情紧接《辘轳、女人和井》。枣花与小庚分居，立誓要好好干一番事业，小庚劝阻不成，翻脸要她还当年为她赎身的4000元，不过他的真实目的是想令枣花重回身边，两人感情开始一波三折。铜锁两口子开了豆腐房，面对完全新生的铜锁，茂源老汉老泪纵横，但他的内心依旧凄苦。后来，茂源老汉认识了酷似枣花娘的枣花二姨，两人一来二往中生出感情，茂源老汉担心悲剧会再度重演，但枣花二姨的性格迥异于枣花娘。。The film shows an obscure episode from the life of a Stalinist criminal - Colonel of the Office of Public Security, Julia Brystiger.
