小花店老板阿东偶遇明星菁菁，为了追求菁菁，阿东想方设法终于进入摄制组工作，吃了不少苦头，在与菁菁的交往中，两人都对爱情和人生有了新的认识和体验。。故事开始于约克家族经过战争取得王权之后，生得一副丑陋长相的理查（劳伦斯·奥利弗 Laurence Olivier 饰）整日无所事事，于是想要找点乐子，他决定谋权篡位。理查陷害自己的三个乔治公爵（约翰·吉尔古德 John Gielgud 饰），造谣说有一个名字以G开头的人想要弑君篡位。 爱德华王（塞德里克·哈德威克 Cedric Hardwicke 饰）死后，理查如愿以偿的成为了继位者，他利用花言巧语哄骗了爱德华王后安（克莱尔·布鲁姆 Claire Bloom 饰），让她嫁给了自己，之后却又因为妒忌和猜疑将其处死，之后，又强娶了爱德华王的女儿，以防她和自己争夺皇位。最终，忍无可忍的亨利伯爵发动了战争，最终扳倒了理查王。。Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. This semi-documentary slice of life is based on the diaries of Elmore Randall Stewart about her days on the Wyoming frontier in the early 20th century. It's a strongly feminist statement about a woman raising her small daughter alone and scrapping for a living by working for a shy Scottish rancher. Director Richard Pearce brings an endearing touch to a film that is helped greatly by the dazzling cinematography of Fred Murphy. Conchata Ferrell and Rip Torn star in this small film that substitutes veracity for a high-powered plot. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut. Winner of the 1980 Berlin Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival。
