光绪年间，香河县知县马东阳被暗杀。西太后欲派身边御厨牛不耕接任知县，光绪反对。于是二人各派一厨子走马上任，分单双日坐堂审案。李保田扮演的神厨与御厨因为权势和厨艺展开了明争暗斗，全剧由两人争乌纱，比拼断案引出一连串啼笑皆非的故事。。A escaped prisoner kills the wife and son of a former sheriff, Matt Austin, who sent him to jail long ago. Austin rides in pursuit and locates his quarry in a small town saloon. During the ensuing gunfight, an innocent bystander is shot and the murderer escapes.
